Description . This article details a work around regarding SSLVPN issues due to Windows update in October 2022. Cause . Windows 10 update KB5018410 breaks currently functional SSL VPN connections.The NetExtender client appears to resolve names using the DNS servers specified in the Sonicwall’s setup, regardless of whether they end with “mycompany.com” or “Google.com”. Once resolved, traffic for google.com goes via the clients internet connection (a la split tunnelling) but the name resolution is done using the LAN DNS servers. If the user has a legacy version of NetExtender installed, the installer first uninstalls the old NetExtender and installs the new version. After the NetExtender stand-alone client has been installed, Windows users can launch NetExtender from their PC’s Start > Programs menu and configure NetExtender to launch when Windows boots. The NetExtender Windows client also supports a single active connection, and displays real-time throughput and data compression ratios in the client.
